UDP Protocols
Hello Jordi & All

I wonder where / how to find some documentation about various UDP's communications between software (protocols).
Using WireShark I can see a lot of traffics between SWL, JTDX, rotor control and many other, but was not able to find out protocol's descriptions.

Any hint please ??

RE: UDP Protocols
Hello Pietro,

I suggest you to read carefully the Digital Modes program chapter in the Swisslog help:

http://www.swisslogforwindows.com/englis...upport.htm

There are many programs which can be linked with Swisslog and every software uses different protocols and ports. If you use PstRotator read the rotor interface chapter (http://www.swisslogforwindows.com/englis...erface.htm). if you use Flex Radio or Expert SDR please read the Transceiver control chapter (http://www.swisslogforwindows.com/englis...ontrol.htm).

Hi Jordi,

thank you for your usefull infos ! Btw, I was not looking for how to setup various external programs, but being also a software developer, I was looking for UDP's protocol messages specification.

I will have a look to the different pages you propose and eventually reverse engineer wsjt, pstrotor and other udp messages. ...

Have a nice day ! Pietro

RE: UDP Protocols
Hello Pietro,

You have to search the documentation of every software because every software uses very different protocols. You don't need to do reverse engineering at all because all protocols are documented. One are easier than others of course. For WSJT-X, you have to download the source and you will find the info in the Network\NetworkMessage.hpp file. For PstRotator, search the "UDP Interface" chapter in the English manual at page 11. If you don't find the documentation for a particular program, I suggest you to contact directly with the authors to obtain this info.
