Where does SL get SFI. SSN, K- and A-indices?
Hi! I also noticed the new solar and terrestial data. I moticed also that SSN changed abrubtly from 0 the last week or so to 22 this morning, which leads to my question: Where does Swisslog pick up these indices? Is it a user configurable thing, or is it hard coded?

Hi Tom,

Solar Flux, A and K indexes are picked up from:

https://services.swpc.noaa.gov/text/wwv.txt

This web can be changed in the configuration file in the WWVURL key from the Propagation section. But I don't recommend at all to change this!! Swisslog reads specifically the format from this source. If you change URL it could change the format and Swisslog won't be able to read it.

SSN is hard coded and taken from:

https://services.swpc.noaa.gov/text/sgas.txt

Both sources are very reliable and it all depends how they update the info. As soon as you start Swisslog and get internet connection it tries to read this info. Latest SSN is saved in the configuration file. So initially Swisslog displays this value and after reading this info it's updated inmediately. Maybe you had a bit delay reading this info but the source is absolutely reliable.
