RE: NEW version 5.91
Hi Fulvio,

Thank you for extended reply. Of course I take all comments and suggestions into consideration for future versions! Simply I want to explain that I'm not Walter and I don't have his programming skills to implement all things I want. EVERYBODY must know this! I'm doing the best I can (and I know). Apart from my own limitations I'm using a very old version of Delphi and I can't update to a newer version. Firstly because it's very expensive (and Swisslog is free now). Secondly Swisslog uses many complements that now are impossible to find to install in newer versions. So I have to work with the compiler as it is. I have had many difficulties with the compiler too! Even professionals programmer would find very difficult to develop Swisslog in this situation. Christian is a professional programmer and he knows the code of Swisslog. You know that nobody wanted to take the programming task of Swisslog (except Christian). He had to leave it because of the lack of time and other personal reasons. I'm very exigent with myself and I'm 200% focused in Swisslog in all my spare time. For me it's very frustrating not knowing how to do many things in Swisslog! But believe me, I really appreciate all user's feedback! Thanks to users suggestions I have been able to implement some of the new functions (even your suggestion about changing the window colors). Maybe I 'm able to implement a way to disable this columns some day as I could do with colours. It all depends on my learning of Delphi and sometimes I'm limited for the components used that don't allow to do some things.

Regarding your questions, the problem is that nodoby read... If users BEFORE installing an update simply read the News and changes would learn many things. I have added an option to disable the QSL actions set by the Membership panel. As I told you before I always want to implement an option to enable/disable functions that may not interest some users. When you disable the Membership panel this condition is saved in the configuration file. Please read the news and changes of this version here (or in the Swisslog help):

http://www.swisslogforwindows.com/englis...e%20V5.htm

If it doesn't work it's because (again) people don't read and they have not followed my instructions. I have insisted a lot for years that Swisslog MUST be installed in Windows Vista or higher with administrator rights and by disabling UAC. This not only affects Swisslog but any other software. Specially amateur radio software. Otherwise there are many many problems. Please read this message I posted in the forum explaining all this:

http://www.swisslogforwindows.com/forum/...hp?tid=203

This it's not my fault, it's a Microsoft thing that everybody must be aware of the consequences of not disabling UAC and not installing with administrator rights. Windows XP didn't have this problem because everybody was administrator with full rights. But from Windows Vista Microsoft changed the users permissions and this has created a big bundle for many programs. So I'm sure that you are using Windows Vista or higher, you have not disabled UAC and you have not installed Swisslog with administrator rights. That's the reason the configuration file is not written when you apply a change (like disabling the Membership panel). Because Windows write protects ALL programs installed in the Program Files folder if UAC is not disabled and program is not installed as administrator.

Please read the news and changes of this version in the website or Swisslog help and also my message explaining the UAC and administrator thing and following the instructions to correct it. After following these instructions you will see that Swisslog will work as it's programmed to work.
