RE: QTH Name in QTH tab NOT to autofill
Hi Reg,
I have revised all code related to the QTH Name field which is a bit messy. The name assigned to the QTH Name is based on a priority list of fields which may had been changed. The priority was established this way:
- DXCC
- IOTA
- REGION
- SUBREGION
- QTH LOCATOR
- DIPLOMA fields
- QTH
Because QTH Locator had higher priority than Diploma fields, when you changed a POTA, the QTH Locator was set as QTH Name.
I have just released a beta version where I have set another priority, which I think has more sense:
- DXCC
- IOTA
- REGION
- SUBREGION
- DIPLOMA fields
- QTH
- QTH LOCATOR
I have placed QTH Locator in last position. Some examples of QTH Names assigned from this beta in different scenarios:
- If user adds or changes a POTA reference, the POTA reference will be set as QTH Name.
- If user adds a SOTA and also changes the County, the County name will be set as QTH Name because it has higher priority.
- If user changes the IOTA field (an existing IOTA should be set in previous QSO), and also changes the US State (Region) then the new IOTA reference will be set as QTH Name (higher priority).
- QTH Locator will only be set as QTH name in case all other fields with higher priority had not changed.
USERS: Do not waste time changing the content of this field and leave Swisslog do the job which now is more accurate and comprehensive. In case of very active stations the QTH Name list will be more comprehensive.
