Field Note in QSO window - OK1FBE - 07-05-2026 Hellow Jordi, I have started to use the version 5.116 and have the following issue: When I try to edit the recorded QSO, the field Note is not copied int QSO entry window (Note is empty) and new text of note overwrites the old note after Save of record. In Logbook window is not possible to set Middleeuropean font (For Note field itwas possible in all previous versions, only neccessary to set after each start of Swl). After installing the Beta this issue stays the same. I believe this was not an issue in version 5.115 and I will try to return to 5.115 version from backup, hopefully. Best regards Vaclav OK1FBE RE: Field Note in QSO window - EA3GCV - 07-05-2026 Hi Vaclav, The note issue is fixed in latest beta released on 22nd April 2026 (see https://www.swisslogforwindows.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=27). Which exact font you are not able to set in the logbook view? I have tried many different fonts perfectly. In order to keep the font (as well as other settings you change) you need to have checked the "Save desktop at exit" in the options menu. Otherwise all changes you do will only be applied to the current session. 73 RE: Field Note in QSO window - OK1FBE - 08-05-2026 Hi Jordi, Even Beta did not solved the issue. The same I have found after return to several backups from 5.115. Note written in QSO window is always correct but after saving the QSO record the displayed note in Logbook window shows incorrect symbols instead of these used in Czech alphabet (ščř and further). If I open the same record from Logbook window for editing it into QSO window, these symbols are shown correct again. Any change in fonts for Logbook window does not helps. I do not know if this can play a role - I have switched recently from Windows10 to Wiindows11 (on Mac27 with Intel and Parallels 26 to use Windows on it). All notes made in past are ok in Logbook window but if I open them in QSO window, they returns to Logbook window falsed. Jordi, thanks for all your (and others) work on Swl, is great for me and this only small (but interesting) issue (and at several users only). Best regards Vaclav OK1FBE RE: Field Note in QSO window - EA3GCV - 08-05-2026 Hi Vaclav, The logbook view has never supported to display international characters. It's a limitation of the grid component. In current version I have added supoort to Unicode but limited.. This is explained in the news of the current version: NEW: Unicode support in the following fields: Operator, QTH, QTH-Name, Callbook fields and Notes. Now you can enter and display properly international characters (Chinese, Arabic, Cyrillic, etc.) and symbols. If you are reading data from QRZ/QRZCQ (which supports Unicode) these data was saved as ????? in the database. When entering QSOs from previously worked stations or updating data from internet databases in logbook views (QRZ or QRZCQ only), now Swisslog will automatically replace the garbage data by the proper characters in the Operator and QTH fields and also fields in the Callbook table. NOTE: for technical limitations these characters will be still displayed in Logbooks views or listings as ???? although data is properly saved in the database. Symbols are not working in the Note field neither 73 |
